Throughout history, technological discoveries have enabled humanity to do new things in new ways. In some cases, these discoveries have been driven by disaster or led to disaster. In this course, we examine a number of such discoveries. We place the events in cultural, technical, historical, environmental, and ethical context. Counts toward the Humanities/Social Sciences requirement.
