Students are introduced to Latin American culture and literature through analysis of art, architecture, and original texts from the pre-Colombian period to 1900. Films and historical readings enhance students' understanding of indigenous and Hispanic cultures, art, and politics in Latin America. The course is conducted in Spanish and may be taken as one of the core courses for the Spanish major and minor.
