Writing minors complete one introductory creative writing class and the creative writing core course, The Language of Literary Art. They then work with a faculty advisor to choose 12 credits of advanced writing coursework, for a total of 20 credits.
The English Division offers minors in English, Literature, and Writing. For students wishing to complete more than one minor offered by the English Division, each minor must have at least 12 unique credits.
All courses used to complete a minor must have grades of "C" or better and at least half of the requirements should be completed at Alfred University. The Division of English does not accept courses taken online for transfer credit after matriculation.
