This course examines the role of creativity in the development, expression, and practice of religious traditions. From sacred texts to ritual performance, from mystic visions to artistic innovation, religions have drawn upon the imagination as a means of expressing and encountering the sacred. Students will investigate how diverse traditions understand creativity - as divine inspiration, human participation in cosmic order, prophetic critique, or a path to liberation. The course emphasizes comparative approaches, drawing on primary sources, theological reflections, and scholarly analyses.
